Imagine this: you're with your sister in LA about to drive up the coast to Seattle and Garrett tells you he is going camping in Yelm, WA, and won't have service. Camping in Yelm? Ok that's believable I guess...but why is his location stuck at the Sea Tac airport? Back in LA my sister and I packed for our road trip and all my texts to Garrett were sending green. I thought about it so many times over in my head, maybe he was camping, or maybe just maybe he was flying somewhere to surprise me. My sister reasoned with me many times that it was possible Garrett was at the airport to pick someone up or that perhaps his location got stuck there when he was driving through the area on the way to camping. Kirsta and I had planned to stop in San Francisco on our first day up the coast to see our friends Lauren and Jamie. Upon getting to their house, Lauren suggested that we do a picnic dinner at a scenic overlook. I had always wanted to see the overlook that she had shot many engagement sessions at and was excited to see the spot. It was foggy and windy at the beach that day and as we hiked to the overlook, I wondered how we were going to have a picnic on such a chilly day. As we got to the top, Lauren pulled out her camera and said she wanted to take photos of Kirsta and I. Still holding on to the possibility of Garrett being there to surprise me, I scanned the whole area but saw...nothing. Man, I guess I truly had made it all up in my head. Seeing as Lauren is a photographer, I didn't think much of the photos, until I heard foot steps behind me. There he was standing behind me, my amazing GARRETT. There are no words to describe how magical of a feeling I felt in that moment. The proposal that we'd both been waiting for the past 6 years was happening right then. Although we'd thought about this day for so long and what we might say to each other, words seemed to slip away from us. All I can truly say is that we felt pure joy in that moment - jumping up and down, kissing and hugging each other tight. Garrett and I met when we were 15 years old and he asked me out on the football field of our high school. Since then, we have been undeniably in love with each other.
